I'm a Scientistis an online participatory programme for schoolchildren, who can engage in live chats with scientists about research and everyday work in science. The project is backed by the Science in Dialogue initiative, which is committed to strengthening scientific perspectives in schools.
The I'm a Scientistformat takes place several times a year on various scientific topics – this time on "artificial intelligence". At the end of these themed rounds, the pupils vote on which scientist answered their questions best. The winner with the most votes then receives prize money of 500 euros. Josef Eiglsperger now wants to invest this money in his own science communication project in the Straubing region.
Josef Eiglsperger researches machine learning methods for complex data in biotechnology and sustainability. His focus is on generative AI and time series forecasting with applications in agriculture and horticulture. He is currently working on the LiveSen-MAP project and was previously involved in the PlantGrid project. He has a master's degree in Renewable Resources (TUM Campus Straubing).
